LONDON, OH – The Ohio High School Athletic Association released a statement on March 13th creating a “no contact period” for high school and junior high sports. This includes any team functions, practices, scrimmages, or contests through April 5, 2020. This full press release can be found here.
Once this “no contact period” has concluded, the OHSAA will re-evaluate the COVID-19 situation, along with the Madison-Plains BOE. The Madison-Plains Board of Education has closed the district facilities beginning Saturday, March 14, 2020 for any athletic team functions, practices, scrimmages, or contests and will run through April 5, 2020. (Please note there will be no off-campus events, practices, scrimmages, or contest during this time as well)
Any banquets, events, scrimmages, or athletic contests that were scheduled between March 14, 2020 and April 5, 2020 has been POSTPONED until further notice. The OHSAA and the Ohio Heritage Conference is working diligently to coordinate the logistics for the remainder of the 2020 Spring Sports Season.
