Madison-Plains Athletics Skills Training to Begin June 8th

London, OH – – The Madison-Plains Athletic Department will open up facilities beginning June 8, 2020, for “Athletic Skills Training. ”  In coordination with Madison County Public Health, student-athletes will be able to attend skills training sessions with their athletic team.  Along with OHSAA regulations that have removed a “No-Contact Period” for the summer of 2020, coaches will be able to host and coordinate skill training sessions for student-athletes.

 

Madison-Plains, along with the rest of the state of Ohio, will begin to phase into normalcy.  Sports programs will be structured to a 10 person capacity for each facility on campus.  This number of 10 does include coaches and student-athletes.

 

In order to be permitted in the building, student-athletes are required to self-check at home before coming to school grounds (i.e. cough, fever, exposure to COVID-19, etc).  If a student or anyone in their household is having any of these symptoms, we ask that they remain at home and do not come to campus.   Once on campus, coaches will verify that each student-athlete has done a self-assessment of their symptoms and attendance before each session.  As always, our top priority is the health and safety of our students at Madison-Plains.  Coaches will be cleaning facilities and equipment prior to any student-athletes walking in our facilities and in-between sessions to provide a safe environment for everyone.

 

We also ask that students and their parents look over the permission form and print it out.  Students, parents, and guardians are asked to sign the form and bring it to each of the skill sessions they attend.  A form will need to be given to each sports program and coach they work out with.  The form can be found at this link or on the “More” section of the MP Athletic Website.  If you are unable to print, coaches will have copies with them that a student can have and bring to their vehicle for a parent to sign.  Students will NOT be able to participate until this form is signed and given to a coach.

If you have not yet signed up for a fall sport, we ask that you follow this link to the sign-up form.  The information gathered from this form will make it easier for coaches to send out information to prospective student-athletes.

 

Student-athletes are required to have an athletic physical on file in the athletic department before participating in any practice, workout, scrimmage, game, or any activity.  These expiration dates can be found on Final Forms.  Although we are in unprecedented times, Madison-Plains and the OHSAA will continue to require these physicals to be done before participating. These physicals can be done by your local health care provider.
